Our story began in 2002, when our family, the Momirski family, decided to create a little slice of camping paradise in the stunning Soča Valley.
A True Family Business (Yes, We Work Together and Still Like Each Other)
Running Camp Vodenca is a true family affair, and each of us has a special role in making sure your stay is as fun, relaxing, and mishap-free as possible (though we can’t control what happens when you try to put up your own tent).

Sašo is the boss, the owner, and the man with the plan. He makes sure everything runs smoothly while secretly enjoying being called “the boss.” But to be honest, without him, there is no electricity or Wi-Fi. He is our electricionist and technology go to guy.

Mirjana, his wife, is the queen of cleanliness—she keeps the toilets spotless, the kitchen welcoming, and the flowers thriving (unlike our attempts at houseplants).

Saša is your go-to person at reception. Whether you need help planning your adventures, finding the best local spots, or just figuring out where you left your flip-flops, she’s got you covered.

Jure, Saša’s boyfriend, is the master of the organisation. He keeps the place clean, organized, and ready for your arrival. He’s also the guy to call if something breaks or if you need a tent setup that doesn’t turn into a modern art installation.

The Story Behind the Name Vodenca (Hint: It’s All About Water)
The name Vodenca comes from the Slovenian word “voda,” meaning water. And if there’s one thing we’re ridiculously proud of, it’s our pristine rivers. The Soča is so clean you can literally drink from it (which is both impressive and rare these days). That’s why we named our campsite Vodenca – the water place, because, well, we’re just that obsessed with water.
